Property Tax Collection - How to make a payment
Oregon property taxes are assessed for the July 1st to June 30th fiscal year. Tax statements are sent to owners by October 25th each year. The first payment is due by November 15th.

Due Dates for 2024 - 2025 Tax Payments
November 15th, Friday, 2024
February 18th, Tuesday, 2025
May 15th, Thursday, 2025
Three payment options:
- Pay in Full - Pay in full by November 15th and receive a 3% discount.
- Pay 2/3 - Pay 2/3 by November 15th and receive a 2% discount.
- Installment Payments - You may pay your property taxes in three installments. No discounts for installment payments.
When mailing your property tax payment be advised that in accordance with ORS 305.820 and ORS 311.505, The Deschutes County Tax Collector uses the official postmark date stamp from the United States Postal Service or Private Express Carrier such as UPS or FedEx, Etc., to post your payment. Please allow sufficient mail time for your payment to arrive, with a postmark on or before the actual due date.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards, Visa debit cards and electronic checks are accepted.

In person
Make your payment in person at one of the Tax Office windows at 1300 NW Wall St, Suite 203, Bend or use a convenient drop box in Bend (at 1300 NW Wall Street on the Wall Street side) or in Redmond (behind City Hall at 411 SW 9th St). Cash, check, money order and major credit** and debit cards** are accepted at the Deschutes County Tax Office.
Drive Through Drop Boxes
- Bend: Use our convenient drive-up drop box located at the front of our building, 1300 NW Wall Street, Bend, (enter on the Wall Street side). Look for the white box labeled Property Tax Payments. The drop box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Redmond: We have a new property tax drop box in Redmond, located behind Redmond City Hall! Entrance on Deschutes Avenue. This box is open Oct. 25 - Nov. 15, Jan. 25 - Feb. 18, and April 25 - May 15.
Via online bill pay through your bank account
A separate payment should be scheduled for each tax account using the six-digit tax account number. These payments are posted as of the date the funds are received so please schedule accordingly. If the funds are received after Nov. 15th, the discount will be lost. Interest will begin to accrue on December 16th. Contact us for more information.
By mail
Cash, Check and money order, payable to "Deschutes County Tax Collector" are accepted.
Mail your payments in the envelope provided or to Deschutes County Tax Collector, PO Box 7559, Bend OR 97708-7559. Payments must be postmarked no later than Friday, Nov. 15th, 2024 in order to be eligible for discount. Interest will begin to accrue on Monday, December 16, 2024. (ORS 305.820, ORS 311.505).
Your canceled check is your receipt. All payments are processed upon receipt.
Mail early to avoid penalties [ORS 305.820 and ORS 311.505] If you are mailing your payment close to the due date and using the USPS, it is advised that you get a hand stamped postmark or receipt from the post office showing your payment was mailed on or before the due date.
By phone**
Call 1-866-871-5856, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to pay using a credit or debit card or electronic check. The same fees apply as payments made via the website. You will be asked to provide your Deschutes County Property Tax account number in addition to the credit card or checking account information for your selected payment method.

All credit and debit card payments in-person, online, and via telephone, are processed through Point and Pay™ and may not reflect on your balance owing for up to 3 business days. The payment may show at your bank as PNP or P&P, so please do not cancel the payment.
Point and Pay™ is a third-party payment service provider, through which Deschutes County can accept credit cards, debit cards or eCheck™. Deschutes County does not collect or retain any portion of the convenience fees charged by Point and Pay™, nor do we collect or retain any customer credit card information.
Deschutes County does not issue refunds for payments processed via Point and Pay™. If you have a question about charges made to your account, please contact us.
