Deschutes County 9-1-1 employee honored with national and state awards

The Deschutes County 9-1-1 Service District is proud to announce that radio system project manager Tim Beuschlein has been honored with both national and state awards for his work upgrading Deschutes County 9-1-1’s radio system.

Beuschlein has been selected as the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International Radio Frequency (RF) Technician of the Year and as the winner of the Oregon Chapter of APCO’s Telecommunications Impact Award.

Deschutes County 9-1-1 is in the process of combining local public safety agencies’ radio systems into a new, updated system. The new system will fix gaps in coverage and help keep local fire, police and emergency medical responders safe.

“Tim has served as 9-1-1’s project manager for the entire radio system project,” said Deschutes County 9-1-1 Service District Director Steve Reinke. “He’s worked tirelessly to help stand up the District’s new system while working to keep our existing system functioning.”

Beuschlein will be honored by APCO at their annual conference in August, and by the Oregon chapter of APCO in October.

APCO International’s Public Safety Communications Awards Program honors public safety communications personnel who have demonstrated the highest levels of personal and professional conduct and performance in the line of duty.

The Oregon Chapter of APCO's Telecommunications Impact Award recognizes a person who makes an extremely noteworthy contribution that positively impacts emergency telecommunications within an agency, region or state in a significant way.
