The Deschutes County Commissioners are proud to support the Cascade Chute Out, a special rodeo collaboration between the High Desert Stampede, Sisters Rodeo and Crooked River Roundup. This special fall event, which begins tomorrow at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center, will support and encourage stock contractors, athletes and contract personnel. It is one of only two PRCA events being held on the West Coast this year.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Central Oregon to enjoy our rodeo athletes and livestock and get outdoors for a well-organized event at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center,” said Commissioner Phil Henderson. “We’re so proud of Fair & Expo Center Director Geoff Hinds and his team, who have worked tirelessly with our community partners to make this event possible.”

The Cascade Chute Out will feature a unique team challenge – rodeo vs rodeo and stock contractor vs stock contractor – in a rodeo experience unlike any other. Featuring 3 PRCA Pro Rodeo Stock Contractors, with over 15 NFR qualified animals each night, and some of the world top cowboys and cowgirls. Events will be held nightly Thursday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Sept. 19. Gates open at 5 p.m.

“Don’t miss the excitement this weekend,” said Deschutes County Commissioner Tony DeBone. “It will be great to get the chance to enjoy a live rodeo in these challenging times.”

Tickets for the event are available at CascadeChuteOut.com. Fair & Expo Center staff and partners are working closely with state and local public health representatives on an extensive health and safety plan to be responsive to COVID restrictions.

The Cascade Chute Out will also be broadcast live on The Cowboy Channel on Thursday, Friday, with the finale broadcast live Saturday evening immediately following the Extreme Bull’s Finale from Nephi Utah.

“We’re so excited to see our community come together to support rodeo in Central Oregon,” said Commissioner Patti Adair. “To be able to utilize the Fair & Expo Center to make this event possible is truly fantastic. I’m glad we could support it.”
