Deschutes County extends recruitment for Facility Project Review Committee members
Deschutes County is accepting applications from interested community members to serve on its Facility Project Review Committee. The Facility Project Review Committee provides recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on pending and upcoming County building and facility projects, as requested by the Board.
The County is seeking applicants with a wide variety of backgrounds, including residents with experience in commercial and public sector general contracting, architecture, real estate, commercial building cost estimating, developer, and public sector project management.
The committee provides recommendations in the following areas: development options and alternative solutions, conceptual proposals, project scope, cost estimates and cost, contracting methodology, and value engineering. The committee may also be asked to provide feedback and recommendations on whether to build, remodel, buy or lease a facility.
In general, projects reviewed by the committee will be over $200,000 and will be challenging, critical, or high profile. Projects will not include private development or projects from other governmental entities.
The Facility Review Committee meets quarterly, or on an as needed basis. Meetings are hybrid and include options for virtual and in-person participation. Committee members may be asked to serve on subcommittees for specific projects.
To apply, please visit www.deschutes.org/jobs. The two vacant committee seats will be posted until filled.
