Deschutes County seeks volunteers for Dog Board of Supervisors

Dog

Deschutes County is seeking applications for volunteers interested in joining the Deschutes County Animal Control Board of Supervisors.  The Board of Supervisors makes decisions on the disposition of dogs who are involved in the chasing, wounding, or killing of livestock.

Potential applicants need to own a dog or livestock to be eligible to serve on the Board.

Volunteer board members attend evening hearings in Bend that are scheduled on an as-needed basis. They are not compensated for their time but are eligible for mileage reimbursement. Members are appointed to two-year terms by the Board of Commissioners.

Interested applicants can fill out an application online. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 9.

For questions, please contact the Board of Commissioner’s Office at (541) 388-6571.
