Cascade Disposal Proposal to Expand Residential Recyclables Collection

Proposal Summary

Waste Connections, dba Cascade Disposal, proposes the following services and fee changes in their service area:

Add weekly collection of glass and comingle recyclables collection in Sunriver, Oregon as a weekly universal side-yard collection service at a rate of $14 per month
Add comingle recyclables, glass and yard debris collection in their Distant Rural Service Zone as a bi-weekly universal curbside service at a rate of $14 per month
Add glass and yard debris collection in their Rural Service Zone as a bi-weekly universal curbside service at a rate of $10 per month

Proposal Status

A Public Hearing was held on January 31, 2022 to get formal comment/input from citizens. The Department of Solid Waste accepted written comments from citizens until the written record period closed on midnight February 14, 2022. The Board of County Commissioners met on February 28, 2022 for deliberations of a Board Order(s) to establish new rates and services for Cascade Disposal's Sunriver, Rural Zone and Distant Rural Zone service areas. The Board of County Commissioners met on March 7, 2022 and approved Board Order 2022-015 which amends the collection services and rates for Cascade Disposal's Sunriver service area only.
