VIDEO: Landfill Siting Process Update

There are new developments today in the search for a new Solid Waste Management facility.

The Board of County Commissioners directed staff to schedule a special meeting of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee to review a recommendation by the Federal Aviation Administration that new landfills not be sited within 5 miles of public airports.

Three of the 12 potential sites under consideration fall within that radius.
