Parole and Probation asks for public’s help in locating convicted sex offender
Deschutes County Parole and Probation is asking for the public’s help in locating a convicted sex offender after he cut off his GPS bracelet at 8 p.m. on Thursday evening near the River Woods Country Store. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office believes David Dale Cook left the area in a vehicle and headed north. Deputies spent the overnight hours following up on information and actively attempting to locate him.
Cook was released from jail earlier in the day on Thursday after completing a jail sentence for previously violating the terms of his parole. He was previously sentenced to 100 months in prison for two counts of Rape 1 and one count of Sodomy 1. He was released from prison in August 2017 and has been on post-prison supervision.
If members of the public see Cook or have information on his whereabouts, they should call 9-1-1.
