Weekly Road Construction Update - Feb. 9 to Feb. 15

Cascade Lakes Hwy closed_Nov 2024

Projects Administered by Deschutes County:

Hamehook Road Bridge Replacement (Bend Area) – Grading work will be occurring at the Hamehook Road Bridge east of Deschutes Market Road.

Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Projects Administered by Other Agencies:

U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews will be working along U.S. 97, but no work will be occurring on the county roads, Smith Rock Way and 11th Street.

Traffic Information – Smith Rock Way and 11th Street are open to traffic within the work zone limits. As work continues, road users should use caution and anticipate construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

Northwest Way Utility Work (City of Redmond) – Utility work will be occurring on Northwest Way near NW Spruce Avenue beginning Feb. 10 through Feb. 21.

Traffic Information – Northwest Way will be closed to through traffic between NW Maple Avenue and NW Upas Avenue through Feb. 21. Drivers should use NW Maple Avenue, NW 35th Street and NW Upas Avenue as detours. Access for local traffic will be maintained.

Other Road Impacts:

Cascade Lakes Highway Closed – Cascade Lakes Highway is closed to traffic between Mt. Bachelor and FS Road 4270 for the winter. The Deschutes County Road Department will aim to remove the snow that accumulates over the winter season and open Cascade Lakes Highway prior to Memorial Day 2025, weather permitting.

Paulina Lake Road Closed – Paulina Lake Road is closed to traffic east of the Ten Mile Sno-Park for the winter. The Deschutes County Road Department will aim to remove the snow that accumulates over the winter season and open Paulina Lake Road prior to Memorial Day 2025, weather permitting.
