Weekly Road Construction Update - July 21 to July 27

Projects Administered by Deschutes County:

Powell Butte Highway/Butler Market Road Intersection Improvement (Bend Area) –Excavation, grading and asphalt paving work will be occurring along Powell Butte Highway near Butler Market Road.

Traffic Information – 24-hour flagging will be occurring along Powell Butte Highway for roundabout construction. The north entrance to the Bend Municipal Airport will remain closed to traffic until August 8. Airport users can access the property from the south entrance. Butler Market Road between Powell Butte Highway and Dickey Road also remains closed during construction. Road users should follow the designated detour route of Nelson Road and Dickey Road, with a posted speed limit of 35 MPH.

Chip Seal (Sisters Area) – Deschutes County crews will be chip sealing and/or fog sealing the following roads (weather permitting):

Chip Seal: 

• Gist Road
• Plainview Road

Fog Seal:

• Sabrina Court
• Fadjur Lane
• Holmes Road
• Goodrich Road
• Edmundson Road
• Hurtley Ranch Road
• Cloverdale Road
• Camp Polk Road
• Wilt Road
• McAllister Road

Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate single lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Old Bend Redmond Highway/S Canal Boulevard (Tumalo/Redmond Areas) – Final trimming and cleanup work will be occurring along Old Bend Redmond Highway and S Canal Boulevard.

Traffic Information – Intermittent single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers may occur during daytime hours. Please obey traffic control signs and use caution when traveling through the area.

Projects Administered by Other Agencies:

US 97: Terrebonne (ODOT) – The Oregon Department of Transportation is doing demolition and excavation on 11^th Street, between US 97 and Central Avenue in Terrebonne.

Traffic Information – Beginning Monday, July 22, 11th Street will be closed to through traffic between US 97 and Central Avenue. Road users should follow the designated detour route of C Avenue, NW 16^th Street and F Avenue. Access for local traffic will be maintained during construction.

Butler Market Road Closure (City of Bend) – The City of Bend is doing road work on Butler Market Road between Eagle Road and Clyde Lane.

Traffic Information – The westbound lane of Butler Market Road is closed to traffic between Eagle Road and Clyde Lane. Westbound travelers should follow the designated detour route of Hamehook Road and Deschutes Market Road.
