Weekly Road Construction Update - May 19 to May 25
Powell Butte Highway/Butler Market Road Intersection Improvement (Bend Area) –Crews will be placing an aggregate base and doing grading work at the intersection of Powell Butte Highway and Butler Market Road. There may also be utility work occurring in the vicinity of the intersection.
Traffic Information – Butler Market Road is closed to traffic between Powell Butte Highway and Dickey Road. A designated detour route is in place via Nelson Road and Dickey Road. The speed limit along the detour route is 35 miles per hour.
Old Bend Redmond Highway/S Canal Boulevard (Tumalo/Redmond Areas) – Crews will be doing asphalt paving work on Old Bend Redmond Highway between Tumalo Road and Elkhorn Avenue.
Traffic Information – Road users should expect single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, which are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Spring River Road (Sunriver Area) – Permanent pavement markings will be installed on Spring River Road between S Century Drive and the Deschutes National Forest boundary.
Traffic Information – Road users should expect single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, which are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Parking for Deschutes River access at Harper Bridge may be temporarily restricted during work hours.
Smith Rock Way Bridge Replacement (Terrebonne Area) – Crews will be doing concrete work at the Smith Rock Way Bridge.
Traffic Information – Smith Rock Way remains closed to through traffic between NE 33rd Street and Lambert Road. A designated detour route is in place via Lambert Road, NE Wilcox Avenue and NE 33rd Street. Access for local traffic will be maintained during construction. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Hunnell Road: Loco Road to Tumalo Road Improvement (Bend Area) – Crews will be doing final trimming and cleanup work on Hunnell Road between the Bend city limit and Tumalo Road.
Traffic Information – Hunnell Road is open to traffic, but there may be intermittent single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers. Road users should exercise caution.
Prescribed Burning (County-wide) – There may be prescribed burns occurring near various County roads. Information on prescribed burning is available at https://centraloregonfire.org/.
Traffic Information – Road users should expect limited visibility due to smoke during or immediately after a prescribed burn. Most smoke impacts occur during the night and early morning hours.
Huntington Road & Burgess Road Utility Work (La Pine Area) – Crews will be doing utility work along Huntington Road south of Burgess Road, as well as along Burgess Road near Glenwood Road.
Traffic Information – Road user should expect shoulder closures and single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers on Burgess Road and Huntington Road. Road users should exercise caution and expect delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours.
