Weekly Road Construction Update - Sept. 1 to Sept. 7

Road Work Ahead

Projects Administered by Deschutes County:

Asphalt Paving (Sisters Area) – Deschutes County crews will be installing asphalt pavement on the following roads (weather permitting):

  • Jordan Road
  • George Cyrus Road

Traffic Information – Road users should expect single lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays.

Powell Butte Highway/Butler Market Road Intersection Improvement (Bend Area) –Final trimming and cleanup work may be occurring at the Powell Butte Highway/Butler Market Road roundabout.

Traffic Information – The roundabout is now fully open to traffic, but crews continue to work in the area. Please use caution when navigating the new roundabout. Road users should anticipate intermittent shoulder closures, along with construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Projects Administered by Other Agencies:

Knott Road/China Hat Road Improvements (City of Bend) – Crews will be installing concrete islands, signage and pavement markings along Knott Road at the intersection of China Hat Road.

Traffic Information – Road users should expect single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers during the evening of Sunday, Sept. 1.

US 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Excavation and clearing work will occur on 11th Street in Terrebonne between F Avenue and Smith Rock Way.

Traffic Information – 11th Street will be closed to through traffic between F Avenue and Smith Rock Way. A designated detour route is in place via C Avenue, NW 16th Street and F Avenue. Access for local traffic will be maintained during construction.
