Leaving Employment/Retiring
Leaving the County for retirement or new adventures can be exciting! We have put together some useful resources that should help make things a little easier as you move on to your new chapter in life.
Deschutes County Personnel Rules require employees to provide written notice of resignation at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the effective date of the employee's resignation. An employee who voluntarily resigns must be present and on the job for one full week immediately prior to the employee's termination date, and must work on the termination date.
Each County Department may have their own off-boarding procedures specific to their department. Check with your supervisor regarding specific off-boarding activities for your department, including how to turn in assigned County equipment, property, and ID badge. Please remove and dispose of parking permits in your vehicles upon your final day of work.
