Building Inspection Requirements

What is required for Inspections?

Work being inspected must be ready by 8 AM on inspection day. AM/PM requests are not guaranteed!
All Contractors must be listed on permit prior to calling for an inspection.
Inspections that are not scheduled will need to be scheduled for another day. Ensure all inspections you are wanting to be conducted for the selected day are scheduled.
For safety of our inspectors, all pets must be put in a separate area from Inspectors.
Gate code information must be included in inspection notes, if applicable.
ALL permits require a Final Building, Final Electrical, Final Plumbing, or Final Mechanical Inspection

Structural Requirements
REVIEWED SITE PLAN REVIEWED CONSTRUCTION PLANSET REVIEWED JOBSITE PACKET Insulation Certificate (when applicable) - Insulation certificate must also be uploaded to the permit record. Plans must be printed in color and to scale. Plans can be downloaded by Applicant under the documents tab of Oregon ePermitting. Electrical Inspections

Electrical Requirements
The Electrician that is associated to the permit must complete the White Electrical Sticker. (See image to the right for example). White Electrical stickers are provided for Homeowners on Jobsite. Only one Electrician should be associated to the permit.

Mechanical Inspections

For Wood stove permits, the installation manual must be available to Inspectors to verify clearances.
If a Flue or Woodstove pipe has been used, a chimney sweep will need to be performed prior to inspection. Chimney sweep receipt must be supplied to Inspector for verification.

Plumbing Inspections

Water must be turned on for inspections to occur.

Inspections

Inspections can be scheduled online through Oregon State’s E-Permitting website or the E-Permitting App, which can be found in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store by searching for “Oregon ePermitting.” Alternatively, inspections can be scheduled by Phone, but may take longer due to our high volume of calls.
