Dr. Aimee Snyder, Prevention and Health Promotion Supervisor - School-based Programs
Dr. Snyder grew up in coastal, southeast Georgia. She is a former middle school teacher and now a Doctor of Public Health specializing in implementing school-based prevention and health promotion programs. She attended University of Arizona (UA) for her bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in Education and Public Health. While in Arizona, Dr. Snyder coordinated K-12 health promotion programs for UA, working with many school districts in Southern Arizona. She also created three university courses for students to earn credit to implement K-12 outreach programs. Dr. Snyder has lived in Oregon since 2015, as faculty at Oregon State University College of Public Health and Human Sciences before moving into public health practice at a local public health department in 2019. Dr. Snyder is passionate about partnerships between local public health, K-12 school districts, and higher education to integrate effective public health services into schools and provide high quality, authentic professional learning experiences to the future public health workforce.
McKaelie Wolfe, Health Educator, My Future- My Choice Coordinator
McKaelie is a Central Oregonian native, growing up in Madras and in the valley here in Oregon. She received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health, with a focus on health promotion and health behavior, from Oregon State University. After graduating she served a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Kids Club of Jefferson County in Madras. She was able to lead the middle school afterschool program and help develop activities and opportunities for the students. She went on to be a part of the Central Oregon Overdose Response Task Force before joining the Adolescent Health Team here at Deschutes County. McKaelie has always had a passion for public health and helping people access the services, education and community they need to be their best self.
Katie Milkovich, Health Educator
Katie was born and raised in Elyria, Ohio. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Psychology. After graduating college, Katie joined the Peace Corps as a Community Health Volunteer, living and working in rural Paraguay. Her time in the Peace Corps is what jump-started her interest in the Public Health sector. When she returned from Paraguay, she moved to Hawai’i to work in the mental health field at a horticultural therapy center. Katie loves to work with youth; helping them to access accurate information to make healthy decisions, and is very passionate about holistic health - believing that a healthy person leads to a healthy community. On the weekends, you can find Katie working in her garden or hiking through the Cascade Mountains.
Georgeanne Windisch, Health Educator
Georgeanne was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon and attended the University of Oregon and graduated with a degree in General Science in 2011. She served as an AmeriCorps HOPE member with Deschutes County Health Services in 2011-2012 working with the My Future-My Choice program, Sexual Health classroom presentations and The Garrett Lee Smith Suicide Prevention Grant. She enjoys working with young people and helping empower them to be able to make healthy choices for themselves in their future. Georgeanne loves living in Bend and enjoys the cycling, skiing and hiking it offers.
