Graduation Rate
The current completion rate for Deschutes County's Mental Health Court (MHC) is 82 percent (as of December 31,2018). This standard has minimally fluctuated since the program's inception in 2002. Since this time, there have been a total of 146 MHC participants.
Recidivism Rate
Recidivism rate, or re-offense rate, is defined as “no new felony or misdemeanor charges within one year of graduation.” As of December 31, 2018, Deschutes County’s MHC program has a current recidivism rate of:
- 17 percent for 1 year post-graduation
- 23 percent for 3 years post-graduation
Similar programs throughout the state utilize a different standard for determining recidivism rates which is "no new felony or misdemeanor convictions within one year of graduation." As of December 31,2018, based on this standard, MHC has a current recidivism rate of:
- 0.03 percent at one year
- 10 percent at three years.
