Application Guide - Structural (Commercial)

Prerequisites

  • Ensure land use requirements are met through Planning, if applicable.  
  • Ensure there is an approved septic system or approval to install a septic system, if applicable.
  • Create an Oregon ePermitting and have licenses associated to your account.  Visit Oregon ePermitting FAQs for more information.

Required Forms

Reference Forms - used as guidelines for creating your construction plans , site plan, calculations and other important documents that need to be uploaded into the permit. See the document list for how to group these pages together. 

Instructions for Applying

Notice:

  • Do not apply until your application is complete and all required documents are ready to be uploaded with the application.
  • Incomplete applications will be withdrawn with an email notification sent to the applicant.
  • Dependent upon scope of work, additional permits may be required.

Step 1: Log into your account on the Oregon ePermitting website. Follow instructions located on the webpage here to create an account. You will also need to associate Licenses to your account in order to apply for the permit.

Step 2: Search for your address and then select the Application Type as follows:

  • Commercial - Structural

Step 3: Fill in any other necessary information such as the Contact information, contractors assigned to the job, site contact, applicant and any required information which will be marked with a red asterisk (*).

Step 4: Upload the required Documents. Note: Combine the documents as noted below. For example, you do not need to individually separate out the building cross sections, instead combine it as part of the construction plan pdf.

  • Documents uploaded should not be pictures or photos of the document.  Image files do not meet file type requirements.
  • PDF documents are the only document file type that will be reviewed, .ZIP files will not be accepted.

Step 5: Once your application has been submitted and then deemed complete by staff, initial fees will be invoiced and ready for payment. If your application is not complete, the staff will send you an email with the outlined missing elements of your application.
