Code Enforcement - Solid Waste (Junk on Property) Regulation DCC 13.36.012, DCC 13.12.205
Solid waste can encompass a myriad of items, though the items typically found to be a violation of county code include:
- Household Items: Garbage, washing machines, refrigerators, and plastic containers.
- Vehicles: Vehicle parts, vehicles which do not move under their own power, tires, engine blocks, wheels, doors, and frames.
- Construction materials: Materials which are not stored in an orderly fashion, and materials that are no longer suitable for construction due to weathering or fire.
If solid waste is found on a property, it must be removed from the property or stored within a lawful structure to be resolved.
Resolution will not typically be achieved by placing a tarp, building a fence, or attempting to otherwise obscure the solid waste.
Local businesses specialize in tire removal, vehicle removal, and property cleanup if it is not feasible for the owner to perform the required cleanup on their own.
