Celebrate National Historic Preservation Month
The public is invited to the Historic Preservation Month Kick-Off Party on Wednesday, May 2, at Redmond City Hall from 5 pm to 7 pm, sponsored by the Deschutes County Historical Society, Deschutes County Historic Landmarks Commission, City of Bend Landmarks Commission, City of Redmond Landmarks Commission, and the Deschutes Land Trust.
Activities include tours of the historic school turned city hall, a renovation project that won an Oregon Heritage Excellence Award in 2017. Light refreshments available. Area heritage organizations will be on hand to talk about historic preservation. Event guides for the full month of activities will also be available. Walking tours of the new Redmond Downtown Historic District will also be offered.
Every May, we celebrate the myriad of ways that historic preservation enhances our quality of life.
